I always thought my college friends from Colorado were a bit arrogant to talk about how incredibly blue "their" skies were compared to those in my home state of Nebraska where we do have lovely skies and spectacular sunsets. It only took a few summers of working in the high Colorado Rockies to convince me they weren't just blowing hot air. Here's a good example of what they meant.
