There are two Cochetopa passes, an old and a new, each crossing the Continental Divide. The first road we took, along the newer

pass route, winds along a snaking river with lovely hay fields on either side. At this stop, we're near the north end of the newer of the two

Cochetopa Pass roads. Each provides about 20 miles of stunningly lovely views, interesting history and fascinating geology.
